Head's Welcome

Welcome to St. James’ CE Primary School – a truly special place where every child is valued, nurtured, challenged and celebrated.

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential and achieve to the best possible standards, giving them a strong foundation for the future. Therefore we provide a unique, exciting curriculum, which is carefully designed to foster a love of learning and effectively prepare children for life in an ever-changing world. We aim to inspire, challenge and motivate our children to want to make a difference.

Our geographical location provides such wonderful opportunities for learning outside the classroom. For us, this is incredibly important, as it enables our children to develop vital learning skills such as resilience, resourcefulness, responsibility and risk-taking, as well as encouraging collaboration.

Our motto ‘Learning Together: Caring Together’ is very much alive and our Christian values underpin all that we do. Here at St. James’ we are one big family, where the approach is supportive and respectful. We really are very proud of the way everyone cares for one another.

At St. James' CE Primary School, the safeguarding of the children in our care is an absolute priority; we take our responsibilities very seriously - we are committed to the safety and well-being of all our children. I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead and the Deputy Safeguarding Lead is Mr. Hanson. The Safeguarding Governor is Lucy Aldridge.

If you would like to find out more our school, please do come along and see for yourself - we would be very happy to welcome you and show you around.

Mrs Gemma Martin
